Howaymanay returns to Newcastle for New Year’s Eve

Fireworks

Newcastle’s Quayside New Year’s Eve celebration Howaymanay is returning on Thursday 31st December, with live music, street entertainment, food, drink and a midnight fireworks finale.

The main event will run from 8:30pm until 12:15am and will be a ticket-only zone along the Quayside.

What’s planned:

• Two stages of live music

• Roaming performers and street entertainment

• Food and drink stalls

• Bars

• A huge midnight fireworks display over the Tyne to welcome in 2027

Tickets are £8 per person

Suitable for ages 8+

Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult

There will be three entrances to the event:

• Sandhill/Guildhall

• King Street

• East Quayside/Millennium Bridge

You’ll need to enter through the entrance selected when booking.

There’s also good news for families who don’t want a late night — a free family-friendly fireworks display will take place at 6pm on the Quayside before the main event.

So there are effectively two options this New Year’s Eve:

6pm – free family fireworks

8:30pm–12:15am – ticketed Howaymanay event with midnight fireworks

After the success of last year’s event, this looks set to be another big night on the Quayside.

Definitely one to get in the diary if you’re planning New Year’s Eve in Newcastle.
