Great Park care home to be called "Sparrowhill" – opening spring 2027
AI rendition of what Sparrowhill could look like
A little while ago, I contacted Crystal Care Collection on behalf of the Great Park Residents Group to welcome them to the community and ask for some information that residents had shown an interest in.
I've now received a response from Susanne Garth Jones, Regional Marketing Manager (North), with some exciting updates.
Here's what they've told us:
The care home will be called Sparrowhill
There had been a little confusion over the name. Willowmere Lodge is actually a different Crystal Care Collection home in Cheshire. The new care home being built opposite Morrisons on Great Park will be called Sparrowhill.
Opening planned for Spring 2027
The team is hoping to welcome its first residents in Spring 2027.
Recruitment opportunities
Jobs will become available closer to the opening date. Vacancies will be advertised on Indeed, as well as on Crystal Care Collection's website and social media channels.
Artist impressions
There aren't any artist's impressions available just yet, but these will be shared on the company's website as soon as they're ready.
What Sparrowhill will offer
The new home will have 66 en-suite bedrooms and provide:
• Residential care
• Dementia care
• Respite care
Residents will also benefit from an all-inclusive package with no hidden fees, including:
24-hour care
All meals, snacks and drinks
A varied activities programme
A complimentary monthly hair appointment
Chiropody services
Regular trips out into the community
Community involvement
Crystal Care Collection says community engagement is something they're passionate about and they want Sparrowhill to become an active part of Great Park.
Once open, they expect to hold activities such as:
Weekly coffee mornings
Games clubs
Exercise sessions
Intergenerational activities with local schools and community groups
Seasonal celebrations
…and much more.
More updates to come
The company has kindly offered to keep the Great Park Residents Group updated as the project progresses, including recruitment opportunities, images of the home and details of opening events. I'll be sure to share any future updates with everyone as they become available.
For complete transparency, below is Crystal Care Collection's response in full:

"Good morning Steven,
I hope you're well.
Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. It's lovely to hear how excited the local community is about one of our upcoming homes in Great Park, and we really appreciate your kind words and support.
I think there may have been a little confusion with the name of the home. Willowmere Lodge is actually one of our new homes opening in Cheshire. The home currently being built at Great Park will be called Sparrowhill, and we're hoping to welcome our first residents in Spring 2027.
In terms of recruitment, we expect opportunities to become available nearer to the opening. All of our vacancies will be advertised on Indeed, and we'll also share updates on our website and social media channels.
At the moment, we don't have any artist's impressions available, but please do keep an eye on our website. As soon as these become available, we'll be sure to share them there.
Sparrowhill will be a 66-bedroom, purpose-built care home, offering residential, dementia and respite care. Every bedroom will have its own en-suite, and residents will benefit from our all-inclusive package with no hidden fees. This includes 24-hour care, all meals, snacks and drinks, a varied activities programme, a complimentary monthly hair appointment, chiropody services and regular trips out into the community.
Community engagement is something we're incredibly passionate about at Crystal Care Collection. Once Sparrowhill is open, there will definitely be opportunities for local residents to get involved. Each of our homes develops its own programme of community events based on the interests of the local area. This often includes weekly coffee mornings, games clubs, exercise sessions, intergenerational activities with local schools and community groups, seasonal celebrations and much more. We look forward to becoming an active part of the Great Park community.
Thank you again for getting in touch. As we get closer to opening, we'll be more than happy to keep you updated with further news, including recruitment opportunities, images of the home and details of our opening events.
If you have any other questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Many thanks,
Susanne Garth Jones
