There are numerous roadworks, road closures, temporary traffic lights and lane restrictions affecting routes across Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Gateshead, County Durham, South Tyneside and Sunderland this week.
Some restrictions are expected to finish within days, while others are part of longer-term projects lasting into 2027 and 2028.
We've put together a comprehensive breakdown of 82 reported roadwork and restriction entries across the region, including their locations, the type of disruption and their scheduled completion dates.
Please allow extra travelling time where necessary.

🏙️ NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE – 17 ROADWORKS & RESTRICTIONS
🚧 1. A167 Tyne Bridge – Lane closures, narrow lanes and a 30mph speed restriction in both directions between the A167(M) and Church Street, Gateshead. Delays expected. Until 16 June 2028 (00:59).
