Where to send, collect and return parcels near Newcastle Great Park: Your complete local guide

Illustrative graphic highlighting parcel collection, returns and postal services available in and around Newcastle Great Park. Check individual providers for confirmed locations and opening times

Need to return an Amazon order, send a Vinted parcel, find an InPost locker or post a letter? The Great Park Gazette has put together a local guide to parcel lockers, Post Offices, courier drop-off points and postal services in Newcastle Great Park and the surrounding areas.

With more residents shopping online, selling unwanted items and arranging deliveries to parcel lockers, knowing where to send and collect parcels has become increasingly useful.

Whether you're returning clothes, posting a birthday card, selling something on eBay or collecting an Amazon delivery, there are a growing number of options close to Newcastle Great Park.

Some facilities are located directly on the estate, while others are available nearby in Brunton Park, Kingston Park, Wideopen, Hazlerigg and Gosforth.

However, there is one important thing to understand before setting off: not every parcel shop accepts every courier.

A location offering Evri services, for example, will not necessarily accept an InPost return or a parcel booked through DHL.

Similarly, an Amazon Locker used for collecting orders is not always interchangeable with an Amazon Returns Kiosk.

We've broken down the available options by location and delivery company to help residents choose the right place.

Parcel services located directly in Newcastle Great Park

1. Morrisons Great Park – Amazon Locker and Amazon Returns Kiosk

Address: Brunton Drive, Newcastle Great Park, NE13 9FS

For Amazon customers, Morrisons is one of the most convenient locations on the estate.

The supermarket's official store listing confirms that it offers both an Amazon Locker and an Amazon Returns Kiosk.

These serve different purposes.

Amazon Locker

An Amazon Locker allows customers to collect eligible orders from a secure locker rather than having them delivered to their home.

When placing an order on Amazon, customers can look for an available locker as a delivery option.

If the Great Park location is available and the item is eligible, Amazon will provide collection instructions once the parcel arrives.

This can be particularly useful for residents who may be away from home during the day.

Amazon Returns Kiosk

The Returns Kiosk provides another option for sending back eligible Amazon purchases.

Customers begin the return through their Amazon account and select the Morrisons kiosk if it is offered.

For qualifying returns, they may receive a QR code allowing them to return the item without printing a label or supplying an additional shipping box.

The kiosk scans the code and guides the customer through the process.

Not all Amazon items qualify, so residents should check the options presented in their own returns account.

Morrisons opening hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 7am–10pm

  • Sunday: 10am–4pm

The Amazon facilities should be checked through Amazon before travelling, particularly if a locker is full or unavailable.

2. One Stop Great Park – Post Office Drop & Collect

Address: Unit 5, Middleton South, Wagonway Drive, Newcastle Great Park, NE13 9BJ

Newcastle Great Park also has its own Post Office-branded Drop & Collect service inside One Stop.

This can be convenient for residents who already have suitable prepaid postage or an eligible parcel ready for collection or drop-off.

However, this is not the same as a full-service Post Office branch.

The official Post Office listing specifically identifies it as a prepaid-only Drop & Collect location.

Residents should not assume they can purchase every type of postage, arrange all specialist services or hand over parcels for any courier here.

For services outside the Drop & Collect offering, a nearby full-service Post Office may be more suitable.

Published opening hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 7am–9pm

The times at which particular postal services can be processed may differ from the shop's general trading hours.

3. Shell Gosforth – Amazon Locker and Amazon Returns

Address: Great North Road, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 2DT.

Residents travelling between Newcastle Great Park and Gosforth have another convenient Amazon collection and returns option at Shell Gosforth.

The petrol station's official website confirms that it offers:

  • Amazon Locker – Collect eligible Amazon orders.

  • Amazon Returns – Return eligible Amazon purchases when the location is offered through Amazon's returns process.

This could be particularly useful for residents who regularly travel along the Great North Road or want an alternative to Morrisons Great Park.

Opening hours:

Monday to Sunday: 6am–midnight.

Customers should check their Amazon account to confirm that the garage is available for their particular collection or return.

Nearby Post Offices offering parcel services

4. Brunton Park Post Office – Royal Mail, Parcelforce, Evri and DPD

Address: 31 Princes Road, Brunton Park, NE3 5TT

Brunton Park Post Office is particularly useful because its official branch listing confirms several different parcel services.

These include:

  • Royal Mail postal services.

  • Parcelforce Worldwide services.

  • Evri parcel drop-offs and collections.

  • DPD parcel drop-offs and collections.

  • Evri and DPD postage purchases in branch.

This makes it a good option for residents who need more than the prepaid-only service offered at One Stop Great Park.

However, the exact acceptance rules will depend on the parcel service and label.

For example, an online retailer's return instructions might specify a particular type of Evri drop-off.

Published opening hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 8am–5.30pm

  • Sunday: 8am–1pm

6. Great North Road Post Office – Inside Esso North Road Service Station

Address: Esso North Road Service Station, Great North Road, Gosforth, NE3 2DQ.

Did you know that the Great North Road Post Office is located inside the Esso petrol station?

This makes the garage a useful stop for Great Park residents who need to send or collect parcels while travelling along the Great North Road.

The Post Office provides:

  • Royal Mail postal services.

  • Parcelforce Worldwide services.

  • Evri parcel drop-offs and collections.

  • Evri postage purchases in branch.

  • Drop & Go and other Post Office counter services.

Post Office opening hours:

Monday to Sunday: 6am–10pm.

Important: Although the Esso petrol station is open 24 hours, the Post Office counter is not. Its advertised hours are 6am–10pm.

InPost lockers near Newcastle Great Park

InPost has become a popular choice for people buying and selling second-hand items, particularly through platforms such as Vinted.

Its lockers allow customers to send, return and collect eligible parcels without needing to queue at a shop counter.

Several InPost lockers are located around Kingston Park.

9. InPost Locker – Tesco Kingston Park

Location: Tesco, Kenton Bar, Kingston Park, NE3 2FP

Where to find it: Outside the store, to the right of the main entrance.

This is a 24-hour InPost Locker, according to InPost's official location page.

It is one of the most useful options for residents who want to drop off a parcel outside normal shop opening hours.

Official locker page:

https://inpost.co.uk/lockers/uk00012906-newcastle-upon-tyne-247-inpost-locker-tesco-newcastle-upon-tyne-ne3-2fp

10. InPost Locker – Aldi Kingston Park

Location: Aldi, Kingston Park Avenue, NE3 2HB

Where to find it: Along the wall at the end of the alley to the left of the store entrance.

InPost also lists this as a 24-hour outdoor locker.

It provides another convenient option if the Tesco locker is full or less accessible.

Official locker page:

https://inpost.co.uk/lockers/uk00276461-newcastle-247-inpost-locker-aldi-kingston-park-avenue-ne3-2hb

11. InPost Locker – The Food Warehouse, Kingston Park

Location: Unit 4, Kingston Retail Park, NE3 2ES

Where to find it: Inside the store, next to the entrance.

Unlike the outdoor lockers at Tesco and Aldi, this locker is indoors.

Residents therefore need to visit during the store's opening hours.

Published access hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 8am–9pm

  • Sunday: 10am–4pm

Official locker page:

https://inpost.co.uk/lockers/uk00058988-newcastle-inpost-locker-the-food-warehouse-kingston-park-ne3-2es

How do InPost lockers work?

For an eligible parcel:

  1. Select InPost when arranging delivery or returning an item.

  2. Follow the instructions in the retailer's website, marketplace or InPost app.

  3. Check whether you need a printed label or have been issued a QR code.

  4. Visit the designated locker.

  5. Scan the code or follow the app instructions.

  6. Place the parcel in the compartment and close the door.

InPost allows users to check locker availability, including compartment sizes, through its app.

This can be useful because lockers occasionally fill up, particularly during busy shopping periods.

Parcels must also fit the locker dimensions and comply with the service's size and weight limits.

InPost website and locator:

https://inpost.co.uk/

What happened to Yodel? Is it now InPost?

Residents looking for a Yodel drop-off point may notice that the company's branding has changed.

Yodel became part of InPost in April 2025, with the Yodel by InPost brand moving fully to InPost on 17 July 2026.

As a result, customers who previously used Yodel's shop network are now generally directed towards InPost's website and app.

However, this does not mean every older Yodel parcel label can automatically be placed in any InPost Locker.

The type of service, label and collection method still matters.

Residents returning an item with a Yodel-branded label should follow the instructions issued with that particular return and check which current InPost Shop or locker can process it.

Kingston Park Post Office

2 Windsor Way, NE3 2SZ

VR Traders – FedEx OnSite

Address: 45 Mitford Gardens, Wideopen, NE13 6LU

FedEx officially lists VR Traders as a FedEx OnSite location.

The listing also specifies parcel size and weight restrictions.

Residents should check the individual shipment's eligibility before visiting, particularly if they intend to drop off a parcel rather than collect one.

Royal Mail: Where can Great Park residents post letters and parcels?

For ordinary letters and Royal Mail parcels, residents have several options.

Royal Mail prepaid parcels

Eligible prepaid Royal Mail items can be taken to:

  • Newcastle Great Park Drop & Collect, Wagonway Drive.

  • Brunton Park Post Office.

  • Kingston Park Post Office.

  • Great North Road Post Office.

  • Wideopen Post Office.

  • Hazlerigg Post Office.

Check your label and the branch's service restrictions before dropping off an item.

Buying stamps and postage

For residents who need to buy postage or use a broader range of counter services, a full-service Post Office such as Brunton Park or Kingston Park is generally more suitable than Great Park's prepaid-only Drop & Collect branch.

Collecting a missed Royal Mail delivery

Residents who receive a Royal Mail collection card or collection notification should follow the location shown on it.

The Royal Mail facility serving Gosforth is:

Gosforth Delivery Office

St Nicholas Hospital, Jubilee Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 3UA.

Royal Mail lists this location as a Customer Service Point offering eligible prepaid parcel drop-offs and collections.

However, residents should not assume a missed delivery will always be held there.

The correct collection location will be shown on the notification or Royal Mail tracking information.

Official Gosforth Delivery Office page:

https://www.royalmail.com/find-locations/customer-service-point/gosforth-delivery-office-ne3-3ua

Where are the nearest Royal Mail postboxes?

Traditional Royal Mail postboxes remain useful for letters, cards and other eligible prepaid items.

However, postboxes are not suitable for every parcel or special delivery service.

Publicly available postal-location records identify boxes in surrounding areas, including:

  • Brunton Park Post Office area, Princes Road.

  • Tesco Kingston Park, near the supermarket.

  • Hazlerigg Post Office area, South View.

  • High Ridge, towards the northern side of Great Park.

  • Wideopen Post Office area, Park View.

These are nearby locations identified in postal records rather than a fully verified inventory of every postbox within Great Park itself.

We have not been able to independently confirm a comprehensive, current list of postboxes on individual streets inside Newcastle Great Park.

For that reason, residents should use Royal Mail's live location finder to identify the nearest operational box and check the collection notice displayed on it.

Royal Mail official postbox locator:

https://www.royalmail.com/locations/postbox

Important: A letter placed in a postbox after its final collection time may not be collected until the following collection day.

For urgent or tracked items, a Post Office or authorised Royal Mail drop-off facility may be more appropriate.

Parcelforce Worldwide

Parcelforce services are available through participating Post Office branches.

Nearby examples include:

  • Brunton Park Post Office.

  • Kingston Park Post Office.

  • Great North Road Post Office.

  • Wideopen Post Office.

However, parcel size and service restrictions can vary.

Residents sending large, heavy or specialist parcels should check the chosen service before travelling.

Parcelforce depot and location finder:

https://www.parcelforce.com/depot-finder

UPS Access Points

UPS operates its own network of participating shops known as UPS Access Points.

These may accept eligible prepaid UPS parcels, returns or customer collections.

However, the exact shop network can change and a specific UPS Access Point within Great Park could not be independently confirmed for this guide.

Residents should enter their postcode into UPS's official location finder and select the location compatible with their shipment.

UPS website:

https://www.ups.com/gb/en/

DHL: Make sure you have the right service

DHL operates more than one UK parcel network, including DHL Express and DHL eCommerce UK.

These services are not interchangeable.

A parcel booked through DHL eCommerce may not be accepted at a DHL Express Service Point, and vice versa.

Residents should therefore check which DHL company is named on their shipping label.

DHL eCommerce UK ServicePoint finder:

https://send.dhlparcel.co.uk/parcel-delivery/servicepoint-locations

DHL Express Service Point information:

https://www.dhl.com/discover/en-gb/ship-with-dhl/service-points

For residents who specifically require a DHL Express-operated service centre rather than a local retailer, DHL lists its Newcastle-area centre at:

Unit 6, Team Valley Trading Estate, Kingsway Interchange, 11th Avenue, Gateshead, NE11 0JY.

This is further away than the local shops included in our guide.

Collect+ and other shop-based parcel networks

Some online retailers use Collect+ or other shop-based collection and return networks.

These services may be available at convenience stores, supermarkets and participating retail outlets.

However, the fact that a shop offers one courier service does not mean it accepts all Collect+ labels or returns.

The retailer issuing the return should provide a list of suitable locations.

Residents should select a participating store through the retailer's instructions or official parcel network locator before travelling.

Use the relevant company's official locator. Do not assume an Evri, DPD or InPost shop can accept the parcel.

Five things to check before dropping off a parcel

A little preparation can save a wasted journey.

1. Check the courier name

Amazon, Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, InPost, DHL, FedEx and UPS operate different systems.

2. Read the label instructions

Some parcels must go to a staffed shop rather than a locker.

3. Check whether a printer is needed

Some services accept QR codes and print labels on site. Others require a label to be attached beforehand.

4. Check size limits

Lockers and shop counters may have different maximum parcel dimensions and weight restrictions.

5. Keep proof of postage

Where possible, obtain a receipt or digital confirmation showing that the parcel has entered the delivery network.

This is particularly important for valuable items, returns with deadlines or sales through online marketplaces.

A useful service for a growing community

For many Great Park residents, being able to return a parcel while shopping at Morrisons or use a nearby locker in Kingston Park is a real convenience.

The local network already provides several options for Amazon, Royal Mail, Evri, DPD and InPost users.

However, it is not yet possible to confirm a complete, permanent list of every courier's drop-off location across Great Park.

Parcel networks change as shops join or leave courier partnerships, lockers are installed and services are updated.

The Great Park Gazette will therefore treat this guide as a directory that can be updated as further facilities are confirmed.

Have we missed a local parcel locker or postbox?

We would welcome residents' help in making this guide even more useful.

Do you know of a parcel locker, Royal Mail postbox or courier drop-off point within Newcastle Great Park that we've missed?

Perhaps a shop offers UPS, DHL, Collect+ or InPost services that are not yet clearly advertised online.

Or maybe you've spotted a new parcel locker being installed in the town centre.

Let us know through the Great Park Residents Group, ideally with the business name, exact location and courier service offered.

We'll use confirmed information to keep the Great Park community informed.
