Report an unresolved Great Park estate management or maintenance issue

Report an unresolved Great Park estate management or maintenance issue

Great Park Gazette is inviting residents to tell us about unresolved estate management and maintenance issues across Newcastle Great Park.

The aim is to help highlight problems that have already been reported through the proper channels but remain outstanding, particularly where an issue is affecting residents, public spaces, access, appearance or the wider estate.

We will not report maintenance issues to Kingston Open Spaces on behalf of residents.

Before contacting Great Park Gazette, the issue must first have been reported directly to Kingston Open Spaces using their official reporting system.

REPORT THE ISSUE FIRST

Estate management and maintenance issues can be reported to Kingston Open Spaces here:

https://kingstonopenspaces.co.uk/report-a-repair/

Please use that service before contacting Great Park Gazette.

Our role is not to replace the official reporting process or act as an intermediary between residents and Kingston Open Spaces.

Instead, where an issue has already been reported but remains unresolved, we may consider publishing it on Great Park Gazette to help document the problem and raise wider awareness.

WHAT TYPES OF ISSUES CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT?

Examples may include:

• Damaged or broken estate infrastructure

• Problems with footpaths or communal areas

• Street furniture requiring repair

• Landscaping or grounds maintenance concerns

• Damaged fencing

• Problems affecting communal open spaces

• Drainage or standing water concerns

• Unresolved maintenance issues

• Damage to estate-managed land or facilities

• Other estate management issues affecting residents

Please remember that not every issue will necessarily be suitable for publication.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

If you would like us to consider publishing an unresolved issue, please use the Contact page on the Great Park Gazette website.

In your message, please provide:

• Your name

• A clear description of the issue

• The exact location

• The what3words location

• A written description of the location so it can easily be identified

• The date the issue was first reported to Kingston Open Spaces

• Any reference number you were given, if applicable

• Details of any response or update you have received

• How long the issue has remained unresolved

• Any additional information you think may be relevant

Please be as specific as possible.

PHOTOGRAPHS

You do not need to send a photograph with your initial submission because the website Contact form does not currently support image uploads.

If we agree that the issue is suitable for publication, we will contact you using the email address you provide and ask you to send a photograph.

Where possible, photographs should clearly show:

• The issue itself

• The surrounding area

• Anything that helps identify the location

• The scale or impact of the problem

Please only send photographs that you have taken yourself or have permission to provide for publication.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Submitting an issue does not guarantee that it will be published.

We will review the information provided and decide whether the matter is appropriate for Great Park Gazette.

If we agree to publish it, we will contact you for a photograph and may ask for additional information before preparing the article.

We may also check publicly available information or contact the relevant organisation for comment before publication where appropriate.

IMPORTANT – WE WILL NOT REPORT THE ISSUE FOR YOU

Great Park Gazette and the Great Park Residents Group do not act as an estate management reporting service.

We will not submit repair or maintenance reports to Kingston Open Spaces on behalf of residents.

The resident reporting the issue remains responsible for:

• Making the original report

• Keeping their reporting reference where one is provided

• Following up directly with Kingston Open Spaces

• Providing us with accurate information about the issue and its reporting history

Our role is limited to considering unresolved issues for publication and helping make residents aware of matters affecting the estate.

ACCURACY AND FAIRNESS

We want any estate management issues published on Great Park Gazette to be accurate, fair and properly documented.

We may therefore ask for evidence that the issue has previously been reported, such as:

• A reporting reference

• Email correspondence

• A screenshot of a submission or acknowledgement

• Details of any response received

Please do not send private information about other residents or members of staff unless it is directly relevant and appropriate for publication.

We may remove personal information from anything we publish.
